EMPTY DOM REMOVE PROTECTOR

Your Skin Does Not Need Another Damn Trend

Posted on October 15 2026

If you've spent any time on skincare TikTok lately, you already know the feeling. That slow creep of am I doing this wrong? while a 24-year-old explains her eleven-step glass skin routine with a jade roller, a gua sha tool, a rice-water toner she made from scratch, and a caption that says "this changed my life."

Here's what nobody says out loud: that routine wasn't built for your skin. It was built for skin that doesn't have a real problem yet.

But here's what really isn't being said: a lot of what you're watching isn't even real. The influencer your age with the perfect skin and the glowing complexion? Filters. The celebrity holding up a product like it's the only thing standing between her and aging? She was paid to say that. Next month she'll be holding up something else. I know because someone tried to get me to do exactly that — pay a celebrity to hold my product and tell you it was life-changing. I said no. I'm still saying no.

I'm not growing as fast as some brands. I know that. But I'm not going to lie to you to get there faster.

Because here's the truth: your skin isn't the problem. The beauty industry has spent decades making you feel like it is — like aging is a flaw to be corrected, like if you just bought the right thing or followed the right routine you'd stop the clock. And now social media has handed that same message to a generation of influencers who will sell it to you on a loop, forever, with a discount code.

Changing skin doesn't need more products. It doesn't need eleven steps or a jade roller or a serum that activates other serums. It needs fewer things that actually work.

My own skin changed when I stopped chasing trends and started being consistent. A gentle cleanser that takes off the day without stripping everything good with it. A hydration step that puts water back into skin that's lost its ability to hold onto it the way it used to. And something to seal it all in so that work doesn't just evaporate by noon. That's it. Three steps. Same thing every day.

Real ingredients, applied consistently, that respect what your skin is doing right now — not what it was doing at 24.

You're not doing it wrong. You never were. You were just sold the wrong story.

Stay wild,
Sharon
